Review -Sindh Shahbaz

My Family and I ended up Sindh Shahbaz after stalking a friend’s facebook profile. One of their branches was located in the Al Khan area of Sharjah. Finding a parking on a Friday night there is a task for ‘Tom Cruise’. Luckily, they have Valet Parking, so our version of Mission Impossible wasn’t filmed.

We entered and sat on the traditional Majlis area down on the carpet. The ambience of this branch was quite okay and nothing fancy . A waiter came to us with a menu and we ordered the

Handi Chicken – A traditional Pakistani dish with a creamy sauce which gives an unexpected unique flavor.

→Chicken Behari Boti - Spicy marianted boneless chicken tenderized in Papaya Paste and fried onions.

Chicken Kabuli Boti -Grilled chicken mixed in a blend of simple mild spices , originally derived from Afganistan

Lemon Mint drink – Lemonade infused with mint powder.

  • Roghani Naan - Tasty & moist bread that is made in the oven, bit on the sweeter end.

Hands down the Handi Chicken was one of the best in town. The Handi totally reminded me the one I had in a Dhaba in Karachi. Both the Boti kebabs were just juicy and tender. A typical Pakistani chat-pata taste to it. Behari Botis were a bit on the spicy end whereas the Kabuli Botis had a mild taste.

After having all this, I regretted myself for filling up my stomach during Iftaari. The roghani Naans were hot and soft. Then came my lemon Mint drink, presented in a gold cup, till now it was one the best Lemon Mints I’ve had in Dubai by far, just the right amount of lemon and mint to be in a drink.

We were too stuffed to have a dessert, so we ordered for the bill. Surprisingly, our bill was just 103Dhs for 4 people. I just wanted to dance on “Washmallay” at the end of my dinner (Well that’s the only Pushto song I know even though it has no link with food or dinner or chicken)

I just hope Sindh Shahbaz expands its doors all around UAE and serve us their delicious food.
